@ Craig

I have some pictures of my Dad's challenge coins, but I am waiting for him to tell me more about them. He has some from bases he was stationed at. I just got back from a vacation last week so I just saw this post. Sorry for the late response. I will be uploading some challenge coin pictures and stories shortly.

I bought my BF the USS Arizona challenge coin for his PIR as well! I know he will love it! I keep looking at the picture of the coin online. I can't wait for it to arrive. I am even more excited about giving it to him! :)

Also, I just joined this group! I love Challenge Coins! I loved looking at my Dad's Challenge Coins when I was younger.

The coins is beautiful...here is the official explanation behind the Navy MOH:

The current Navy Medal of Honor is a five-pointed bronze star, tipped with trefoils containing a crown of laurel and oak. In the center is Minerva, personifying the United States, standing with left hand resting on fasces and right hand holding a shield blazoned with the shield from the coat of arms of the United States. She repulses Discord, represented by snakes. The medal is suspended from the flukes of an anchor.  There is also an authorized ribbon and rosette to be worn in lieu of the medal.  The Medal of Honor Ribbon is blue with five stars, 2 at the top and 3 at the bottom.  The six-sided blue silk rosette bears 13 stars and is worn on civilian attire.  Medal of Honor recipients may also wear the Medal itself around the neck of civilian attire for special occasions.

Can you recommend which challenge coin to purchase first for those of us who have SR's that began their challenge at RTC on the USS JFK and then were re-located to the USS Arizona?

Thank you!
