I am going to visit my son's ship Nov 11-15th. The comissioning is the 13th and they have so much fun stuff for the sailors I think starting the 9th. Every day though they have plans family is welcome. Monday night before I get there they have Monday they have dinner and the foolball game for sailors and families, they also have attendence at 2 Miami Dolphins games family included, lunch and pictures with the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders and some players (I think the comand of this ship likes football LOL) A beach BBQ Pig roast, 5K run, tour of the everglades on air boats, all family included.

Not sure if I told you all but his ship the USS Jason Dunham was named after a Marine who put his hard hat then his body over a granade that fell from a car at a roadside checkpoint. He saved 12 Marines and many civilians. His birthday I think is on the 10th and his parents will be there all week, they are having a Birthday party for Jason. This is only a part of what they have planned too. They said they are speaking to habitat for hunity too, my son is pulling for that one.
I am so excited oh and my mom is coming with me!

Thanks JulieR, I hope you hear soon. I have to come up with something and soon.

Paula I know the Nimitz had over 6,000 and we also did the strick ships, but there were lots of us. Trish and myself did the IT group there were around 80 of them. And I had the school help and I still spent a large amount of money but it was worth it.

Paula I will check that out also, thanks.
