Thank you everyone for your advice and suggestions! It is keeping me going! And its very nice to hear words of wisdom because sometimes Boot Camp Moms gets a little depressing. We are on week 4 at bootcamp (or 3 depending if you count processing). We (his girlfriend) got the first letter Monday that he had started receiving all our letters. Hopefully I will get a similar letter today. So that is a huge relief since we were about week behind everyone else in mailing letters thanks to his dad and stepmom not giving us the address. The last few letters before he got our letters were kinda sad - he kept asking why haven't you written and sounded down and confused because everyone else was getting letters. I know mom's first - but I my son and I had a long talk before he left because he was worried people would be mad at him if he didn't write all the time. So I told him if he only had limited time or energy to write then write his girlfriend first, she agreed to keep me in the loop and then I update the family from there. Which I am very okay with!

Collette...LOL...I guess I need my own identity don't I...I am more than Lewis's mom :). I still get teary eyed every day. Today I had a really cool out of the blue conversation with a total stranger about my Navy son...it was pretty darn cool...first conversation like that. I will keep the family in my prayers and I will say a prayer for the man who didn't want to talk about the Navy. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe...he was wearing someone else's navy jacket.

LOL good for you Becky! I will keep that family in my prays and thoughts, I hate to hear that. Do you know what happen on the Reagan? I have the yearbook also Lewismom, I was looking at it today. They also design t-shirts, which my son ordered one for each of us, I was so surprise he did that, I wear it all the time.

Aye! Please pray for a sailor and his family as he was killed on the Reagan on Friday. Lewismom I only received one call from BC . Hang tough no news is good news!!! I cried alot when mine was in BC. I cried at PIR from the time it started till it ended. Debbie is right it amazing and the pride you will feel is also amazing. Make sure your son orders the DVD of PIR. Sometimes when I miss mine I pull it out and watch it. Get this I went out the other nite and the was an older gentleman there with a Navy coat on> I went up to him and asked if he was in the Navy. He said yes. I said my son is in the Navy. He replied I don't want to talk about the Navy, to which I replied... I glad my son is serving in the Navy and I'm a proud Navy Mom. I walked away and left him dumbfounded!!

Lewismom, no calls? Don't worry he will call, just keep sending him letter, everyone in the family should write to him. Forget the girlfriend, mom comes first.LOL Can't wait to meet you too. March 26, well that is not too far away you are going to love it, PIR is beautiful, it was the most amazing event I have every seen.
