OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

What a relief--prayers do work! I just got a 10 second call to tell me he's not going to Afg. He wants to go to San Diego in two years.

Being on a carrier is no guarantee--he was on the Roosevelt and sent to Afghanistan the first time. Honestly though, he volunteered so he could get off the carrier cause he hated it. Too big and impersonal for him. He thought his next duty would be a frigate in two years. I hope that's what happens as planned. He said if he has to go, he'll be there by April and would have three months training at Ft. Bragg maybe. The first time he was at Ft. Riley, Kansas, for three months. I don't know what happened to the three years at Great Lakes--he hasn't been there a year yet!
