Ugh. He just called me. Got called into the Chief's office and told his name is going on the IA (Individual Augmentee) list to go back to Afghanistan. The Chief told him that since he just got back in December, he most likely won't have to go, but because he's single, his name is submitted. He's divorced and has two little girls he adores--they don't consider his kids. He escaped serious injury by an IED already; I don't want him to have to go again.

I sent my son all the info, so I hope he comes. You can ask all kinds of questions. He's been described as "a squared away sailor" and thrives on the Navy.

Ruth you will be missed, maybe we will meet one day, 3 hours is a drive for a weekday.

Pauls, thanks for making the reservations for us, can't wait. How many do we have coming?
Comment by Ruth, Gun's Mom on October 26, 2009 at 10:04pm
I thought about coming to the get together, but decided that since I'm driving to Houston and Tucson in November, I'd better stay home and get ready. The location would be so easy for me, but it's still about 3 hours away. It's an hour's drive for my sailor, but he might just show up to meet all of you. He met a few of you in February and enjoyed himself.
