Sally I am so sorry I will keep your mom in my prays, I know it cannot be ez for you.

Did you see on the new about the Carl Vinson they are having a baseball game on deck, it looked so cool, how nice for all the men and women on that ship

And the Ronald Regan is in again, I saw a video I love watching the ship come in.

Do we have reservation and under what name.  I talked with Annie last night and she cannot make it.  If we were closer I would have Stephen stop in but that is a drive for him.  I will see everyone tonight around 6:30.

Thank you so much ladies for your responses and kind words. It means so much to me to know there are moms out there who know EXACTLY how I feel... and I love my husband dearly and I'm sure her father feels something but it's no where near how I feel and as much as I try to explain he just doesn't understand why one minute I say one thing and the next minute I'm crying my eyes out... I'm like you know what baby you're never going to understand when I tell you it's a "mom" thing so just give me a minute and I'll be okay. She called yesterday and she sounded upbeat all she said was she made it... she's fine and she'll call me back in a few weeks.... oh and of course the "box" which I don't look forward to... anyway, yes I'd love to go to Westmont just give me the info and I'll try to make it - thanks again :)

Welcome Miriam, I felt what you were saying and it almost made me cry until I remembered how my son's and my life has evolved since that day. First thanks to everyone in this group!!! Miriam the ladies here helped all of us (each other) with questions to fears and panic attacks....LOL My son was picked up here at the house along with a few other boys near us. It killed me to see that uniformed man come for my son hug me and thank me. Then see him leave all smiles as I was crying like hell.

BUT BUT now I get phone calls not from that boy but from a man! I feel maybe we are luckier than most but when my son calls he he is happy, he sounds so good, his manners are huge his excitement to learn is greater than I have ever seen (he has taken dozens of classes on the base in Norfolk) he tells me his ship treats them like family and that he loves the Navy and hopes to make it long term.

I guess I am saying lean on us post as much as you feel you need to and let us help you through this time. A year from now you will be helping the next mom.

As soon as you get her PIR date plan on being there with tissues I cried like hell!

Navy Mom HUGS!!! Paula2
