OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Cath, I just sent two new sub moms your way. They may send you private messages.

That’s great!

Sounds great -- I think I saw her on the A School group, but I know she has joined sub moms and Groton as well.

My son is a veteran -- used the GI bill for school and is employed at the VA (full circle).

Well - if she wants to reach out to me I can guide her to help. My son is approaching 7 years now! He has at least 1 more to go - who knows from there. Where is your son?

I think her son hasn't gone to RTC yet. Must be a planner!

I lived in CT for most my life. My sailor is a submariner, but after training in Groton has been at different bases. There are many submarine groups both here and on Facebook. Is this persons sailor still training?
Comment by Valtameri on July 15, 2020 at 7:14pm

I ask because I saw a new mom wondering about Groton. My son wasn't on subs though, so I don't know a ton about the base, although I have been there.

Comment by Valtameri on July 15, 2020 at 7:13pm

Hi Cath, are you here as a leftover from Groton days?

Comment by Cath Bubblehead mom on July 15, 2020 at 6:50pm
Hi-I think most use the Facebook page.
