PS Tami, Hurst is my hometown - D/FW. makes me homesick. I'm in deep east TX now but its 4 1/2 hours away. but on a map, they are real close together. go figure. Then I'm usually 2 more hours down SW to my parents once a week, then 2 more hours SE to Beaumont for doctors/surgery. Whew, its a vicious triangle runnin the roads.

As I mentioned, the lady who sent this to me checks her facts. She sent a second email a few minutes ago.

I did a little more research on the email I sent earlier about "Democratic Socialists of America (DPA). There is currently no official list of paying members Congress who are also members of the DPA. That list does list members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. (CPC). I copied the paragraph below about the relationship between the DSA and the CPC.

"Until 1999, DSA hosted the website of the Progressive Caucus. Following a subsequent expose of the link between the two entities, the Progressive Caucus established its own website under the auspices of Congress. But DSA and the Progressive Caucus remain intimately linked."

The Congressional Progressive Caucus was formed in 1991 by five members of the U.S. House of Representatives, one of them being Lane Evans. So, it isn't surprising that Phil Hare is also a member of the CPC. However, it isn't known if he also belongs to the Democratic Socialists of America as stated in the earlier email.
[Lane Evans was a Congressman in Illinois who chose Phil Hare as his successor--the Congressman who has stated he doesn't care about the Constitution....my Congressman :( ]

Q: What is the Socialist International?

A: It is the worldwide organization of socialist, social democratic and labor parties. It currently brings together 131 political parties and organizations from all continents. Its origins go back to the early international organizations of the labor movement of the last century.* It has existed in its present form since 1951, when it was re-established at the Frankfurt Congress. They are now headquartered in London, England.

* In 1864, representatives of English and French industrial workers founded the International Working men's Association in London. Karl Marx, who was living in London at the time, became the first Internationals dominant figure. Marx's doctrines were revived in the 20th century by Russian revolutionary Vladimir Ilich Lenin, who developed and applied them – and we all know that what was started as a labor movement ended up as the biggest totalitarian/communist state, i.e., the USSR.

Q: What is the Democratic Socialists of America [DSA]?

A: It is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. Their website is

http://www.dsausa.org/dsa.html

Q: What are seven principles behind what the DSA calls it's "Progressive Challenge?"

Dignified Work
Environmental Justice
Economic Redistribution
Democratic Participation
Community Empowerment
Global Non-Violence
Social Justice.

Never mind their soothing-sounding leftist doublespeak like 'Environmental Justice' (whatever that is supposed to mean) or the soft & fuzzy 'Global Non-Violence' (a euphemism for unilateral disarmament) — the DSA's self-declared principle of 'Economic Redistribution' clearly shows where these folks are coming from and exactly where they plan to take America.

I found this on the internet--Buying Votes: It appears that Democrats will receive a severe beating in the fall elections. What can save them? How about the administration wiping out large swaths of debt for underwater mortgage holders?

"Rumors are running wild from Washington to Wall Street that the Obama administration is about to order government-controlled lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to forgive a portion of the mortgage debt of millions of Americans who owe more than what their homes are worth," Pethokoukis wrote in Reuters' Political Risk blog.

I had the opportunity to volunteer in the Victory Illinois phone center today in Moline, IL. making calls for a five question survey. Overwhelmingly, the answer to the first one was NO--Do you support the Healthcare bill? Question 2 was Do you support raising taxes in Illinois to pay off the deficit? NO. The last three questions were if the election were today, who would you vote for? For governor, BRADY vs. Quinn; senator, KIRK vs. Guinulis; congressman SCHILLING vs. Hare (our Congressman who doesn't care about the Constitution). I had the opportunity to meet Mark Kirk; I know Bobby Schilling. We have to not become over confident, but today was very encouraging!
