Maine really surprised me, as did a boatload of other states. Really, really good news all over the country. Except Nevada of course. Sigh.

From an Army wife that I know--It frustrates me that the news is hailing the "no more combat troops in Iraq" headline. Obviously our soldiers are still there, and more planning to go for a long deployment of their own. It's just that they changed the name from "Brigade Combat Team" to "Advise and Assist Brigade". Merely a terminology change. And... yet, as my husband [a chaplain] said, "they're still shooting rockets at us!"

I just watched the video posted by "One, Two, Three" with the former President and first lady welcoming home our troops....I couldn't stop crying it was soooo moving! You DO need to watch it! It has inspired me to try and learn when the troops will be returning in the WDC area so that I can be there to welcome them home myself.

I guess it has even more meaning for me know that my "guy" is over there in Afghanistan for six months.....
