Now concerning the NAVY:
Came from my military e-mail.

Obama may Order Cuts in US Nuke Arsenal
September 21, 2009
Xinhua News Agency
LONDON -- U.S. President Barack Obama has demanded the Pentagon conduct a radical review of U.S. nuclear weapons doctrine to prepare the way for deep cuts in the country's arsenal, according to today's Guardian newspaper.

The report said that Obama has rejected the Pentagon's first draft of the "nuclear posture review" as being too timid, and has called for a range of more far-reaching options consistent with his goal of eventually abolishing nuclear weapons altogether.

The paper quoted European officials as saying that those options include: reconfiguring the U.S. nuclear force to allow for an arsenal measured in hundreds rather than thousands of deployed strategic warheads; redrafting nuclear doctrine to narrow the range of conditions under which the U.S. would use nuclear weapons; Exploring ways of guaranteeing the future reliability of nuclear weapons without testing or producing a new generation of warheads.

The Guardian also quoted one official as saying "Obama is now driving this process. He is saying these are the president's weapons, and he wants to look again at the doctrine and their role."

The review is due to be completed by the end of this year, and European officials said the outcome is not yet clear, the report added.

The move came as Obama prepared to take the rare step of chairing a watershed session of the UN Security Council on Thursday.

Mary and Lynn, the principal was upset it was released to the public, not upset it happened. It is exactly like brainwashing. I was totally shocked to see it and hear the lyrics... Lynn, it wasn't just praising Obama, its a brainwashing that starts when they are little and like sponges, like in other communist countries. Then in 15 years, they are 20 years old.

I certainly have thoughts on Afganistan. It scares me and I'm afraid this adminstation is more interesting in pleasing some of his supporter than listening to experienced military leadership.

I don't welcome the thought of increasing the troops in Afganistan however I'm very fearful for our troops that are there now and may not be getting the support they need to do the job.

1,2,3. We heard the phone call verbatim on the news, and it specifically did not say voluntary participation. Someone is back peddling, or taking it upon themselves to be the spokesperson for the White House. Once they get caught doing something they ethically or legally not supposed to do, they cover it up, or apologize for any misunderstanding or misrepresentation. Over and over, its getting old and very predictable.

It sounds Like Senator Chambliss had the same concerns many of us had, but we had to wait for some brave individuals to expose them in a very large way - over all locations across the USA. Corruption is not confined to politicians.

We are fortunate to have some good representation in our state, here's a response to my concerns about Acon...

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) receiving federal tax dollars. It is good to hear from you.

I understand your concerns about ACORN in light of recent events. I was a cosponsor of amendments to the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development appropriations bill and the Interior appropriations bill that prevented federal funds from going to ACORN. Both amendments passed by large margins. Additionally, I am an original cosponsor of S. 1687, a bill which would prevent ACORN from receiving any federal dollars. Furthermore, I have signed letters urging Committee Chairmen in the Senate to hold hearings regarding ACORN where appropriate and seeking an investigation into their practices by the Government Accountability Office.

Moreover, the Census Bureau has severed all ties with ACORN citing a lack of confidence with the organization. I am committed to ensuring that your tax dollars are spent in a prudent manner and that groups like ACORN that demonstrate egregious misconduct do not receive federal funding.

If you would like to receive timely email alerts regarding the latest congressional actions and my weekly e-newsletter, please sign up via my web site at: www.chambliss.senate.gov. Please let me know whenever I may be of assistance.

Very truly yours,

Saxby Chambliss

I just saw the old girlfriend speak - of the man accused of killing that Yale student before she got married. Six yrs ago, the GF said he was controlling and abusive and she got herself out. First, he tried to tell her what to say and wear and what she couldn't do, and then it got physical. Sometimes, I guess the progression is so slow, they keep themselves in denial until they've reached their breaking point, or it crosses over a line they finally recognize.

Interesting that Bill Clinton has expressed his views on Jimmy Carter's racial statement. Clinton nailed it.
