Hello, My son is going to Okinwana in Feb. to train at the hospital for a year. I do not know much about it. I am really happy for him but, of course really sad. Is anybody's child working at the hospital there?

Central Mass Mom: guess our boys will know each other, if they don't already!  J sent me an address today.....it's a bunch of letters and numbers- guess that's how the military does it?!  No Camp name and no country??  I'm still learning this stuff :)  Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!!

J is at Camp Hansen.  Just moved there yesterday.  Haven't heard from him yet to see how he likes it there, but he said Oki is beautiful.  Thanks for being here!  1st Christmas without him was hard.  I'm glad your son is doing well.  Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hello, all!  I am new to this group, but been on this site for almost a year.  My J just got to Oki on Wednesday.  He was home for 3 1/2 days-not long enough for mom!  I am not sure where he is, but he said he's working in a clinic.  He doesn't like to talk on the phone much either, ladies.  I will try to get more info out of him whenever he is able to skype us.  Don't be surprised if I get on here blubbering!!  I am really going to need support while J is away from home ;(

I always wondered if that "Majik Jack" thing worked. Might be work getting to cut back on some bills!

Just found out my son will be going to MLG Okinawa Japan for 3 years. Looking to hear from anyone who can tell me what to expect. My son doesn't tell us much of anything, just hates to talk on the phone! If you can believe that!!!

Hello All! My son just graduated FTMB at Camp Pendleton Friday and he is leaving today for Okinawa as Hospital Corpman. I'm nervous for myself, and excited for him; but he has made arrangements with his sponsor to pick him up and show him around when he arrives..

I have no idea at this point how I am going to be able to contact my son, though.. I guess we will work it out.

It was very disappointing that he did not get to visit home before his deployment. He went straight from Corpsman school in GL to Cali, and now straight to Okinawa. I'm sure he will get some time off to come home, but it sure would have been cheaper for him if he had been allowed to purchase travel while he was still stateside!

roudCorpsmanMom- Sounds like our sons may have been together in FTMB?

My daughter joined her husband in Okinawa last week. This is all new to her. I am hoping she will meet some other wives and make friends. She has told me about alot of thunder and lightning. It is hard to think about my daughter 6000 miles away.
