Yep what Uli said...Ditto
This is a great site, I added it to my favorites. Thanks.
My son is at BC right now as well. He too is going to be a Corpsman. I am still unsure of exactly what kind of training he will be doing. I am curious where they go after school. Do you know how long the school training is?
wherever the Navy needs them. Corpschool, A-School, is a classroom oriented school, with the last 2 weeks hands on training. Study, Study, Study. You might want to join a an A-School group when the time comes.
From what I've heard, his school is a year long. That is the only question I can answer and not guess at, but like I said, this is from what he had told me before he left, that his school would be about a year long. Didn't your son just get to BC? on the 17th? mine just got there the 16th, probably be graduating BC the same weekend.
Corpsman A school is 14 weeks long. My son just graduated in the end of Feb. and is currently in FMTB (Field Medical Training Battalion) in Camp Pendelton. Almost all corpsmen will go after A school. They will either go to Camp Pendelton or Camp Lejune. There they will learn more hands on training. Other moms give give more detail. I'm still a newbie at the FMTB training.
Yes, He arrived on the 17th. I don't know his Ship# or Div# is yet.
My son just graduted from BC in the GL on Friday 3/19, he is also to be Corpsman. They told him he starts A school on Tuesday and it is in the GL; however he should be done with A school by mid July.
Did you go to his graduation? I'm just wondering about the Grad n Go. If he is going to school in GL for A school, will I get to see him for Liberty on the weekend he graduates?
Our son will start A school tomorrow and we got to spend the entire weekend fri, sat and sun with him!
my son's name in Brandon alos, he got to bc on tuesday and is a corpsman, he is in ship 14 division 189. Where is your son?
