My current favorite Christmas song that always brings me to tears is "Grown up Christmas List"

Ruthella - are you saying you prefer to go "comando" in the panty area? LOL!

"I'll be Home for Christmas" always makes me cry, from when I was the age of our kids and far away from home one Christmas.
Last Monday we set up a song circle with four local singer/songwriters at the local brain rehab. In the nursing unit, where patients are mostly in wheelchairs, and family is there with them for the most part, they came out to the lobby to listen and have hot cider. Those four singers have never sung together before, they took turns, some Christmas, some original, some original Christmas tunes as well...and the harmony began. There were tears in many eyes, so many people singing along, or trying to. I call it singing in their hearts, you can't always hear it, but you can find a toe slightly tapping or a finger. Music truly heals. There are some from the Fort Hood massacre there, now that area is sectioned off, no one goes in or out. Right before we left an Army officer came thru with about 8 women dressed in red jackets, I think they brought in a Killeen area choir group to sing back there.

The length of A School might be changing as it moves to San Antonio, I think there will be a marrying of military medical training with the Army and Air Force.

I love that song too Nikki! I have Amy Grant's Christmas CD on in my office right now, "I Need A Silent Night" is playing now, how very true these days!
Carol - well, the way I look at it, I could stay at home and cry all day (the thought did cross my mind) or I can put on my big girl panties and get on with the day! My life might be a tad hectic right now but there are those with far more pressing and devastating issues to deal with. Mine are just small potatoes! :0)

Uli! So happy you got to pop in for a minute! Sounds like a wonderfully inspirational experience!
Carol - I know, I was thinking to myself, do I not meet their standards or what? I put in the application well over a month ago, will try sending another e-mail and see what happens. My neighbor up the river is a member and proudly has her star in her front window, I was going to ask her about who to contact but she's got her hands more than full at the moment, her husband wrecked his motorcycle about a month ago and is now paralyzed from the waist down, he is in rehab and they are in the process of coming to terms with the changes in their lives. My wanting to join is such a miniscule (sp?) thing compared with what they are dealing with!
Happier news - cub is sleeping, waiting on word of when he'll be flying and daughter is at 3 cm and holding thus far! What a day! :0)

Well my man cub is still on home soil! spent the entire night at airport, one thing after the other kept them from getting on that plane. This morning all were told that they were going to put them up in a hotel as the flight is going to be another 12 - 24 hours delayed. He is looking forward to getting a little sleep, and is anxious as he's e-mailed his sponsor about the delays but not gotten a response and is afraid there will be no one there to meet him! Silly boy, I told him to remain calm, there will be someone there for him!

Kristine - good to hear from you and know that both you and your son are doing well! You are in my prayers.
How did you get involved in the whole card mailing thing? That's something that I could help with! I have contacted the local blue stars moms group twice now, the 1st time to apply for membership, the 2nd to see why I hadn't heard anything. I got a response that they called my home phone and didn't get an answer, so I replied with my cell number as I always have it on me and no response since! I hear good things from other mom's about their chapters and thought it would be a good way to help out. Looking into our local USO now.

We are SO glad to hear from you, girl and that Michael is doing well. If you go back to Sunday's posts, there's an article from my newspaper on the 2/2. My son said he knew the guys, maybe you can send it on to your son so they can see how famous they are down here in Texas.

I sent Uli some birthdays from my son, did those end up with you?

Oh - almost forgot to mention! Daughter is to be at hospital at 0700, Dr is inducing her as baby "poopy corn" is in place and rather large and they see no reason to wait any longer. I personally think Dr just doesn't want to work this weekend! And no, no name chosen yet so big brother's decision of calling him him "poopy corn" is starting to stick! LOL

ROFLMAO Ruthella! Like watching puppies, snicker, snicker! I needed that laugh tonight! My boy is sitting at the air port waiting to leave for Naples, was supposed to go last night, was put on a 24 hour delay, showed up on time to find he won't be leaving until the wee hours of the morning! I told him on the bright side, once you're there, you're there in freakin' ITALY! How cool is that?!
