And now the REAL reason I got on here at the moment - my friend here at work teaches the children's bible study class at her church every Wed. evening and tonight they are making/signing cards to be mailed to our military away from home for the holidays - she asked me if I could find out an address that they can send cards to sailors - so, I know you wonderful women have the answer for me! Thanks in advance!

oh, I meant to say, you can get Gerbers at Sporting goods stores, the airport ones were at the surplus store where they sell the stuff they take away from people getting on airplanes, they're used...but cheap. Also wine tools, scissors, etc for cheap.

Here in Texas we have Academy, Oshman's ...those places have Gerbers.

yes, a Gerber is another name brand like a Leatherman...check out the underlined link in my last post, there are photos of them. The one I got for my son was about 50 bucks, and he got it for Christmas since he PIR'd in November that year.

Ruthella, my son is more interested in clothes than I can remember ever seeing him...he washed his beautful embrodiered Uof TX hoodie, cold water and let it dry on a hanger so the needle work wouldn't pucker...who knew he knew about puckering embrodiery? He can get the Levi's that I find on sale for $32 for about $24 at the LX....but shirts, he actually wears real shirts! with buttons! to go out at night, anyway. Who is this guy?

Gerber Tools

Get him a Gerber Tool, it becomes part of a corpsman's hand, he'll need one. Keep the reciept so he can exchange it if it's not the exact one he needs or wants. Check the airport near you for their surplus store of 'weapons' taken from passengers, I hear they are loaded with all types of these multi tools, cheap!

My son has military issued duffel bags, over the last 5 years he has bought a dozen smaller bags, I have about 4 of them here in the utility room. He buys one to bring stuff home, leaves it. He'll take stuff back in one, and leave it there.

Does he have a good point and shoot camera that will fit in small places?
