coco, another group you might want to join is this one, Moms with Kids in Iraq or Afghanistan. Lots of information there.

Please know that we all are here to listen to you and help you get through this time, and we will add our prayers to you for your son and his Marines. Several moms here have corpsman kids in Afghanistan right now. Are you sending packages? sounds like he might need batteries! for everything!!

It will be a tough holiday this year, but having that son and husband there with you is wonderful!

DMRTI go to the C4 link, that is where my son is now assigned. Lucky for him, their new apartment is not all that far from that Camp! his roommate has to go all the way to Fort Sam. My son, I think, will be involved in the "five-days of intensive field training."

Now, the challange is finding a washer/dryer...so that little car isn't totally filled with laundry every time it pulls into the driveway.

Cathy - you are a strong momma! 24 hours? It takes me weeks just to go into their rooms and take the darned sheets off the bed after they've left! I know it's gross but I just can't make myself do it!

Awwww - sitting here at my desk crying like a baby, how awesome! The folks at TIA got to see pretty much the same thing this morning, why is it us moms are the last to let go in a hug? :0)

Happy to hear Colin made it home! What is it with these boys and their ink? Devin actually mentioned that he wanted to get one of his "tweaked" a little while home!
We have outdoor movie night at the park tonight, they're showing "Ice Age" I just love outdoor movie night, so small town! I'm hoping Devin will want to go with me, the hubs never wants to go, says if he can sit on his couch to see a movie why would he sit in the grass to do so - such an old piss ant!

Yes Kim - you must get "cake faced" for all of us! How cool that you are close to Nikki! And of course lots of birthday hugs from all her "aunties" here on N4Ms for her little b-day girl! :0)

Man cub has arrived! I had to come back to the office but left him home with a belly full of lunch and a new puppy just delighted to have someone new to chew on! Frank will be home from work within the hour so I'm sure Dev will be off in the truck making the rounds, his phone didn't stop ringing the entire ride home from the airport! :0)

That sucks about the search, but it's one reason my son doesn't travel in his uniform. As he pointed out in "that tone" of voice, the one with patience and irony dripping out of it ever so darm gently...grr...anyway he said "MOM, if you were a bad guy wanting to get on a plane, what would YOU put on thinking it was a guarantee to be allowed on??" It was my sweet silver haired MIL and Al Gore being searched that set me off...come on. good grief! Glad he's getting home, my son could never use those 96 limit ones before but now he can! This will be his first Thanksgiving home in 4 years! We've been very blessed about Christmas, his deployments and assignments have worked out that he's been home every Christmas. My daughter is now doing Thanksgiving...so it's his first one there, altho I have request items for the Christmas Day dinner already.

I'll still be cooking a small turkey, for the gravy and leftovers. My SIL is frying the turkey but mashed potatoes, dressing and gravy are still required. I'll cook it the day before....while I chat on the internet.
