Well, my man cub isn't home yet! He had a traveling nightmare yesterday - first he was pulled form the line and interrogated at the airport and searched! Mind you, he was in uniform! Then they changed his flight plans from flying into Ft Lauderdale and then on to Tampa to flying into Jax and then Tamps. Once they arrived in Jax after waiting on the plane for close to 2 hours they let them off to tell them they would not be flying into Tampa last night. Needless to say this mom was grabbing her keys and driving to Jax but my cub told me they were giving him a room voucher and a meal voucher and promised he'd be on the first flight this morning. So...I hope to have my cub home by 0940! Will be leaving here in about 30 minutes to go to the airport! Sure hope Carol's cub made it home! :0)

So - don't you know the FAA has had a "glitch" in their system today and there are rampant delays all over the place! Devin called to let me know his flight out has been delayed an hour thus far. Oh well, this mom will be heading to the airport with a good book, never know how long these "glitches" will take to recover!

Betty - treacherous isn't a strong enough word for driving up there when it snows! My son graduated bc on Christmas Eve last year, I flew in during a snow storm and prayed like mad everytime I had to get into a vehicle!

Carol - docking @ 2115 tonight! Having a difficult time concentrating at work today! LOL
Hey Tex! - Have been informed that all laundry in his duffle is clean, ironed and then packed by one of his classmates and he will not even open it at home, it's going to Italy that way - now, the rest of the stuff will definitely be strewn all over. My older son is coming home on Dec 1st and will stay until the 7th to spend some time with his brother, now, let me tell you that is my slob child, we won't be able to see the floor in his room the entire time he's home! The mess is usually somewhat manageable when his bride is with him, however she just started a new job and won't be able to make the trip home with him this time. I shall just grin and bear it! :0)

Be prepared for exploding dufflebags...altho when the sailor just visited it wasn't as bad as two weeks ago when he arrived...geez, how do they cram so much in those things??

have a happy reunion and a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with those sailors, moms!!!

Ditto that Mark! Devin was in bc last year for Thanksgiving, he said they had a really good meal, turkey and prime rib! May all of our sailors be well fed, safe, warm, and surrounded by friends if not family on this Thanksgiving.

So - I got my call a little while ago - I will be cooking for a sailor! No clue when he's heading out to Italy yet, hoping he knows by the time he grads on Thursday but do know one thing - this momma will be waitung at the gate at TIA on Thursday night to hug her boy! Oh, yeah, Thanksgiving dinner - 2 turkeys, one traditional stuffed with sausage and bread dressing in the oven, one deep fried (hey, we're southern, remember?) mash potatoes, corn soufle, fresh green beans with garlic and butter, baked sweet potatoes and apples, Italian carrots, home made cranberry relish and of course a couple cranberry jellies right out of the can still shaped like a can (again, southern) nice soft potatoe rolls, lots of gravy and even more butter! Pecan pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, pumpkin cheesecake and lots of whipped cream! Followed by a usually out of control game of Scattergories!
