Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Got the "box"
I was home today and I got the "box" from my son. I hurried to open it expecting that he put a note inside, but it was only his dirty clothes, Lol! I smiled thinking its almost like he is still home leaving his things lying around. It's been 7 whole days since he has been in BC and I have been on YouTube and this site since then...I am both nervous and excited. I am concerned about his swimming because all he ever learned to do is float and none of my children ever went past 6 feet of water. When they were young they always wanted to go swimming however, looking back they never swam they just played around...I miss him and I am looking forward to seeing him progress to the next stage of his life. I am estimating that his PIR will be around June 23rd or the 29th then he will be off to Ft. Lee which is only two hours from my home, so he can come home on weekends. Thank you all for this site it is a godsend :)

That's awesome, I couldn't wait for my box to arrive and when it finally did I sat there staring at it. No note for me either, my son is very dry! My son didn't know how to really swim either but the most important test is to floating one so if he is a pro then he is set!
How lucky that he is going to be hours away from you later on, I am sure he will want to go home on the weekends.

Hopefully he will want to come home :) All of his clothes are still here and I miss him calling me all day for no reason :) He was the last one at home so, I am truly an empty nester now...so, now I work all the time because there is really no reason to rush home anymore...

Awww, I feel your pain. For me it was the first to leave the nest! It is the same pain learning to let go...
I think he will want to go home, Ft Lee isn't all that much fun lol.

Lol! Thanks for the support. I hope he comes home regularly, who would have ever thought I would miss him giving me instructions on what/how to live my life, Lol! He is very laid back so, I know this is an experience for him because he is an introvert and loves his personal space.
