For those of you who don't know ... The new CS "A-School" is located at Fort Lee (Army base) in Virginia. The Navy and Air Force share a brand new building for thier barracks. The school itself is also brand new and state of the art.

My son graduated on July 13th from GL and was on hold until August 4th. He is currently at CS school with a proposed graduation date of September 7 then he is going to Groton CT for sub school. Any other moms out there with similar sailors? My son says the A school is pretty cool and he is enjoying the cooking a lot.

Hi tam1960.  My son is in the same class.  He will graduate on September 7th as well.  Are you going to his graduation?  My son said not to go because he might leave the same day for sub school.

Nika, CS school is at Ft Lee, Virginia. He may be on hold for a week or two at GL after graduating boot camp. Enjoy PIR and the weekend with your sailor. Chicago may be a busy town but the Navy Pier is a good place to visit.

pass in review a.k.a. graduation

my husbands pir is november 9th and he said they are going to hold him in GL for 5 days before they send him to fort lee. anyone else have a spouse in that group?  or have any tips on if he will get to come home for the two week vacation his recruiter mentioned after A school?

They will get either a week if they are going stateside and two weeks if going overseas, if I remember right. He can save 5 days if he works with his recruiter when he comes back. I had to leave for a work trip before my son left for Japan but we had a week together.
Marti, he will spend a few days at GL and then will go to Ft Lee for A School.

Does anyone know what the address is for the new culinary A school in Fort Lee? My son will be there in a week and I need to send him something there.
