Oh no!!!  Well, Emma didn't say anything about that to me!  But now I'll have to ask....

My son didn't like the fact that immediately upon arriving to DLI he was blessed with a toilet scrub brush and told to go at it!!  hahahaa.

My daughter and several others arrived safely at DLI on Saturday afternoon/evening.  I asked her yesterday if she felt like she'd died and gone to Heaven - thinking, it must be beautiful there, she's not in boot camp anymore, etc.  She said, No, because even Heaven doesn't have this much paperwork!  It made me laugh, I thought you ladies might also be amused.  But truly, she seems to be quite pleased.  Her language was changed right at the end of boot camp, no surprise there I suppose, but she is still happy with her assignment and ready to get started.

Getting excited, leaving for Monterey in a few days. Can't wait to see my son and the place he now calls home. He loves it out there and has made some great friends. Even though I know he is now very busy with his classes, I'm excited that he can spend some time with us.

Woot Woot!!  Got a call from my SR today.  He has his language and all is going well with his security clearance.  Whew!  He said one guy's clearance got hung up because he had lived with a French family in the past.  I thought the French were our allies.  ;)  Harsh.  He'll get to CA this month and doesn't start classes until January.  That's a long time to wait.  I'm sure they'll keep him busy.  Do you guys know if they let them start with tapes or anything in the meantime?

Tammy-So glad you'll be able to spend some quality time with your son on Saturday.  I felt guilty about being with him when he was so tired.  I know he would have liked a nap, but he said he would get to sleep on the plane.

My son leaves Chicago for Monterrey at 3pm on Saturday 10-8. I'm so glad I'll be able to spend time with him before he leaves. He is so excited about getting to DLI. His school starts nov 15.

Karen, that is great information!  I believe the female is indeed my "other daughter"!  I talked to my daughter today, they changed her language!  Now her classes don't start until January, but maybe it will get moved up.  I hope they keep her busy!  From what I hear, my other daughter really likes it so far.  She is in a room alone for now and is trying like crazy to keep it open until my daughter gets there!  I hope it works out for them.

Darlene 8993-I got a phone call last night from my new sailor. Boy, is that great!.  I really like him having his cell phone with him.He said that there ended up being two other people on the flight with him to Monterey on Sat. 10/1/11 and one was a female who was probably your "other daughter". He said his classes start on Nov. 3 as well.  My son's plane left Chicago at 10:15 am with a 4 hour layover in LA before the last flight to Monterey.  We didn't make it to the airport until 5:30am.  We had little people who didn't want to get up and we stayed with him until he boarded the plane at 9:45 am. We went to a restaurant and ate breakfast with him at 6:00am at the airport. He had arrived at the airport by bus around 3:45am.  He was sooo tired.  He tried to lay down Friday night but only managed 2 hours sleep before getting up to catch the bus. My son said he was in a room by himself right now, but would be getting a roommate when the group comes in this coming weekend.
