Provided that Battle Stations goes OK this week, my son should be headed to DLI next weekend.

My daughter has her language assigned!  She should arrive at DLI on 10/8 or 10/9.  She is pleased with the assignment and anxious to get started.

Yes, that's it. The quarter deck.  He did mention that the next move he makes should be to the dorm-type building.  His roomate was just moved there. Currently he has the room to himself but that's probably only going to be for a few days. But, he said it's the very first time he has ever been alone since April18, 2011 so he's excited.

My son is still in the building that they are placed in when they first arrive. No t.v. in his room but maybe he could??  He said life gets better when they move to a different building. Right now he said he constantly has to say "hello Petty Officer".  "Good afternoon chief" etc b/c he is in the building w/ all the chiefs and petty officers. He can't wait to move.

KC'smom, my son's university had a detailed room mate survey that in GIANT letters at the top that basically said "Parents, back off and let your kids complete this honestly!"  I so wanted to meddle...How about we form a Mom GF/BF committee and play matchmaker at DLI???  Who is in?  For sure we can't tell our sailors (or SR in my son's case at this point) of our nefarious plans...JK All!

Do you know my son would absolutely DISOWN me (and I can't blame him, haha) if he knew I was posting on a navy chat room that my son is single!!!  OMG! haha.  The last time I meddled in his affairs I picked his college dorm mate for him. The guy ended up being bipolar/ schizophrenic and had "an episode" after experiencing the freedom of college and went crazy. I couldn't believe I hand picked the guy. I promised myself I wouldn't try to pick his girlfriend for him!!!

Oh, I just recenlty learned the answer to your question Tammy!!  No, not in the room, but apparently there is a recreation hall  and perhaps he could play video games in there. My son told me there are people playing video games in there but I'm not sure if it was computer games or actual game systems.

My husband has another question he wants me to post... Our son is into on- line gaming (ie. Call of duty, etc.) is this allowed in his room?... Personally, I kind of hope not because of it cutting into his study time, but he was wondering if he would be able to have his x-box 360.

Thanx, I'm looking forward to my son being there. It seems there are about 5 guys in his division arriving on 10/8. By they way everyone sounds here, he will get along great. He seems to have the same personality and interests as many others here. It also makes me feel better that there seems to be other guys (and gals) of faith. He was not able to get either of the 2 languages he had chosen, but he will do fine. His last letter speaks of a "blended" language experience that he may have the opportunity. Not really sure what it will entail, but it sounds interesting. BTW- matchmaker moms- my son is also single...,
