Florida girl- I hear you. So many lives lost to terrorism. Just painfully sad.

I am gonna work sooooo much over-time to make a trip happen!!  We just spent $2,000 to fly our family out to GL for PIR and we only saw him a grand total of 11 hours. hahahaa  My husband says NO to going to California. Well, maybe he can stay here w/ the kids then!!

my son obviously can't take pictures of the inside of the base for me, but he went to the community college today for his new statistics class and oh my God! The building he was going into looked like a Zen Center!!!  Nothing like the university he came from!!

I feel so blessed. I just got back from California after visiting a few days with my mom and siblings (I'm from Southern California, but now live in Arkansas), then driving north (6 hour drive) with my 81 year old mother to spend last weekend in Monterey, visiting with my son. My son so wanted his Grandma to be able to see where he lives (well, and me, too)--and she was so excited! The three of us had a wonderful visit...and my son and I had some time alone, while Mom rested at the hotel. Such a great time! If you can, go visit your son/daughter in Monterey--you won't regret the credit card bills! :)
