Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Craig, my son is about 30 minutes from landing from leave. He was supposed to be home yesterday at this time. His flight got cancelled last night in Charlotte due to the air not working properly in 1st class. He ended up having to get a room last night and take the 1st available to Hawaii today. If he hadn't given himself and extra day, he would have been in trouble. Good lesson. Airlines....

My nephew learned a valuable lesson. He took the last flight from Denver to Pensacola. It ended up having a mechanical. The next flight was the next day and he would have been UA from school. He ended up taking a flight to Atlanta, then to Panama City (about 90 miles south of Pensacola). He got a taxi to make a deal with him, $175 from Panama City to Pensacola, he ended up getting back on time.
He started to complain, I told him $175 was cheap compared to Captain's Mast which would have took 1/2 months pay for 2 months. He then shut up because he knew I was correct....

Ok thanks! He was at NAS before corry and they made him take "leave" for the weekend even though he didnt miss any class.. I guess things are BETTER and different at corry station ! ha

Just a reminder that it is also hurricane season here in Florida and we have alot of storms that do cause flight delays. We are only in Orlando, my son flew home and was almost late getting back because of flight delays. From that point on we did the drive up for long weekends to see him.

Let me clarify that a little bit more. If he is on liberty, and he has no duty, and its a normal day off (ie 4pm on Friday to 0630am on Monday (or 0630 on Tuesday because Monday was a holiday) then its an Out of Area chit. If he misses any duty days, then he needs a leave chit, which more than likely will not be approved since he's in school.

He only needs a "out of area" chit. However, he best not take the last fight of the evening. If he misses it, or it gets cancel, he's in trouble. But it is based on what the command says, or even his chief.

If I live in California which is like 2,000 miles from pensacola...would he still need to put an "out of bound" chit or request leave because it is so far away??

tbaby - My nephew came home to Denver from Pensacola at least once a month, sometimes twice to keep a relationship going. He did this for about 14 months. All the sailor does is put in an "Out-of-Area" chit. Very simple.....
