Dee-how long does Phase 1 last?  My Sailor is flying out to DLI Saturday, and his school doesn't start until July 9.  Does Phase 1 last until he begins classes?

Comment by B'sWife13210 on June 2, 2013 at 11:06pm

My husband is in Monterey for CTI and is waiting for his security clearance to come through but tells me he is in phase 1. What all do they do in phase 1? He doesn't start classes til the end of July.

Hey Craig Maroney sent me!! He said to tell Dee Hi :) i'm from the PIR july 12th group on facebook, So i need to know how to start the move process from ohio out to california to stay at the lodge or stay with family, will the navy pay for our plane tickets out to California if its early? or is that an out of pocket expense?

Comment by NavyMom4J on May 24, 2013 at 8:52am

Lady Hamilton: thanks so much! I will definitely send this onto my sailor. I know he has taken classes and also volunteering is a huge thing he has been done. I believe he earned his points for that. But I think this brag sheet will really assist him, and also keep him focused on knowing he has to TOOT his own horn. Appreciate the support!!!

Comment by NavyMom4J on May 23, 2013 at 11:40pm

Right- he is trying to - I think some of it is just tough because he has spent a lot of time in port while the ship has been undergoing repairs. Now that it has been on more underway's, he has a better chance to earn more. He has gotten several awards, but only has been in his rate for 2 years. Maximizing a strategy is a great idea I will pass onto him. He is a very hard worker that does a lot more than expected and sometimes others get the credit when it is he that is really doing the work- which is really hard on him. I keep telling him, someone will notice that eventually.

Congrats to all Sailors who have advanced!  My CTT did not, however, and he is pretty discouraged. 3rd time he has taken the test. Any thoughts out there as to how or what to help him deal? HE won't quit, but I wonder why it seems so hard for some and so easy for others to advance.

I'm a proud Navy Mom as well. My son called yesterday and said that he is now a CTM3. Very happy for him!

Woo-hoo CRF.... Man, 2nd class is the best place in the Navy, you do are not truly management, and you are not truly a worker. It's the best place to be....
Comment by CRF230dad on May 22, 2013 at 12:31pm

Good morning all, i haven't been on this page for some time since my son left P-Cola last October. I just wanted to gloat a little. Just heard our son made Petty Office 2nd Class (CTT2) Congratulations to all the Phantom Warriors aboard the USS Paul Hamilton currently deployed who promoted! We could not be prouder of him...

Comment by Craig on May 21, 2013 at 8:00pm
That is correct Lady H. Whatever commands roots are is what goes on top. If she had air warfare, and the command assigned was an air wing, the it would go on top..
