Hi! I notice your Sailor's rating is DCM.  Mine is DCFN, but I do know that they all take the engineering core, graduate from that and then certify in their particular specialty.  That could account for the difference, or they may just need to hold off starting the various strands until every one for that particular school has gone through PIR.  At any rate, congrats on that upcoming PIR!  What an amazing experience; hope you get to spend some time with your brand new Sailor.

Hi All, My SR is in BT with PIR of 4/6.  He is going to be DCM so I joined this group.  I just received a letter from him saying that he found out his A school training would be 12 weeks instead of the 9 that we thought it was going to be.  Does that sound right?  Thanks for any help on this.

My son has done two tiger cruises already and they were only allowed one to two persons per sailors, women were not allowed unless you had a female sailor on board. My husband and other son has been on the cruises...would love to go on one time myself.

judayann - no waiting list in Japan...I'm sure with your sailor's ship being a carrier and here in the US, the flight is much cheaper.
