Hi Ladies. My son is in A school in GL and should be finishing up in about 3 weeks. He said he is so glad he picked to be a DC. Not a lot of them out there! He just got his orders, he will be heading to San Diego. We are so excited because we live in Northern Cali! This whole navy experience has been very exciting and emotional, but definately the Proudest I have ever felt as a Mom! This site definately helped me get thru the bootcamp experience!

Thank you Oleander! I have joined Boot camp for moms and am patiently awaiting the form letter to join the PIR group!

Hi NavyWildcat, Tffytat, welcome! This site is pretty quiet - be sure to join the bootcamp for  moms and your SR's PIR group as soon as you have the date. There's lots of great info there! And for you NavyWildcat there's a Moms of daughter's group that's fantastic.

SailorKMom, sorry I didn't see your posts  - your son must be in A school now or has he graduated and received his orders?

My girls just left on her 1st deployment. We got to watch her man the rails as they left the harbor. Such a thrill!

Hello! My son is currently in BC and will be completing A school in GL to be DC. This is new for us all but we're super proud of him and can't wait to see him again.

I got my first letter!!! So excited!!! I was expecting it to have a little more emotion to it. He said it is pushing him to his limit but he's getting stronger everyday and gave details about his days there, but it was definately disconnected. Thats not his personality, so it was a little sad to me as equal as so happy to hear from him. Maybe its just his way of getting thru BC!

My son is in BC right now PIC is June 2nd and will stay in Great Lakes for A school. He is going to be DC. I have been reading about what DCs do. Hope it ends up being a good fit for him! Not a lot of others are posting about their recruits being a DC. Is this one of the more dangerous jobs in the Navy?
