Thanks for the welcome! My son's recruiter was excellent, a Seal who has shore duty, and my son was very impressed with his enthusiasm for the Navy. I'm in contact with a couple moms from DE, new ones like tfarr and a couple whose kids are going in soon or just left. I'm at work now, but we should think about a meet & greet that people at different stages of Navy experience would feel comfortable coming to. Think about it!

Welcome white clay. I'm in north wilmington about a mile from the PA line. My sister lives outside of newark off 273 so I know where you are. I check this site everyday too but there's never much action. LOL. Congratulations on you son graduating boot. My son is a corpsman deployed with the marines right now.

Hi, I don't live in DE but we are 1 mile from the DE line in PA, off Rt 896 and our son's recruitment office is in Newark. I'm a member of the PA and Philly area groups, but PA is a big state! My son grad bc 2/18/11 and is in Great Lakes for A school, Adv. Elect./Computer Field for FC, (weapons fired by computer). He'll be there probably till the end of the year, then will go to C school to specialize in a weapons system. I don't know if you ever have a meet & greet event, but I'd be interested. I try to check the Members tab every week or so to look out for new moms/dads/wives from our PA/DE area.

Hello All

I've been a N4M's member since July 8, 2010 when my son shipped off to BC.  We've been living in Milton for 4 years since moving here from Jersey.  Our son is currently in Panama City, Fl about to graduate from Dive School.  We just found out that that his home port will be Little Creek, VA., Naval Expeditionary Combat Command.  Pretty lucky for us as long as he stays there for a bit.

I started a site for our PIR Division and have made wonderful life long friends there and although I would never leave that group I thought that now that our son is going to be "moving" on in his career that I would broaden my horizons too.

I want to thank all of you wonderful moms and wives, and if there are any dads on here, and your Sailors for serving our great country.

Debbie K -- will say a prayer that Keith makes it home for the holidays. Enjoy your time with him -- we won't see JC until next month (hopefully) -- we can't wait!

I used to work in Wilmington (Rodney Square) - for almost 20 yrs. It's changed alot. I cried like a baby for days when JC climed on that plane for BC over a year ago. I'm not an over protective mom by any means, but when he turned & waved . . . . My son is stationed on a guided missle destroyer & the worst thing for me is not hearing from him for long periods of time.
