Welcome, Peanutsmom. Looks like we are very close to each other -- I'm in Clayton. Send me a message if you'd like to get together sometime. JC's Mama

Welcome to the site, congratulations and thank Amber for her service. My son left for boot camp a year ago this month. I'd like to tell you that it gets easier but it doesn't, it does get better though! Dan has grown so much in a year that we hardly recognize him. After BC grad he stayed at GL for Corpsman A school and is now assigned to the Marines as a combat Corpsman and is stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. What will Amber's rate be?

Hi Diane R I'm glad to have some contact with another sailor mom in Delaware. I'm still a bit of a "newbie" at this, but I did save a couple of sites on the USS Barry that I found interesting & informative - check out:

How does your son like being in Italy? I'd love to be there myself -- i LOVE Italian food! (as does my sailor, Josh).
We're down in Clayton (about 5 miles west of Smyrna) - but i was raised in suburbs between Newport & Wilmington. Maybe we could do a "brag session" sometime - send me a message.

Hi Dan's Dad

My son, Josh, is a hull tech/fireman on a destroyer. He graduated last December from Great Lakes. It was difficult for our family as he was not home for Thanksgiving or X-mas. My hubby surprised me at X-mas with plane ticket & hotel/rental car reservations to see JC graduate on the 30th. I only got to spend the day with him as he was entering training school. Best Xmas ever! We're hoping JC will be home this year for Xmas before being deployed again. Where are you and your sailor from? Have a good trip - take lots of pics!

Hello JC's mom. What does your son do on the Barry?

My son is finishing FMTB with the Marines next week, we'll be driving to Camp Lejuene to see him graduate and then he'll come back with us for a three day weekend at home.

Hi to fellow Delawareans. I'm the proud mom of a DDG 52 sailor. Would love to chat with others having loved ones in the navy.
