For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Just wondering...
Hello- i'm new here...son just left to go take his enlistment oath this very afternoon...his recruiter says he qualified for the nuclear program...he also said that son should know his report date for bc tomorrow when he comes home....does anyway have a guess in the ballpark when that might be (report date). thanks. kimboskids2010

Several (nukes) who enlisted on Sep 13th with my son are scheduled to leave in mid April, so I would guess late April, early May??

Is he still in High School? If so, when does he graduate?
At NavyDEP.com I show 41 sailors leaving for boot camp till June 2012. Of that list I show the following are going Nuke:

Hi I am new here. Any advice how to get discount to purchase airplane ticket to visit our son who will graduate from bootcamp next year? Southwest or Delta? I heard that there will be hide special rate for military families to buy ticket to visit their kids for boot camp graduation. Thank you for your advice.

Hi all. @deaf65 I was wondering the samething. I hadn't heard about special rates but I will definately check into it and let you know what I find out. When is your son graduating BC? It looks he will be going to BC as early as late May 2012 or as late as Aug 2012.

Six to nine months is typical right now. There was a time when a recruit could sign up and leave in the same week (I did that myself), but right now there are more people joining than there are spaces for them, so there is a long wait list. Occasionally I've heard of three-month waits, and about as often, a full year.
