Hi Mom's

My son is scheduled  for PIR on 2/4/11 an assigned to ship 11 div 061. I could not find any groups for moms who's sons are assigned to ship 11 div 61. Sooo I am hoping we could get together here and compare notes from our sons.  I dont know much about this division, I have read from other moms that certain divisions mean certain things.  Well I hope to hear from you guys :)

the problem is that I can't move with him, as much as I want to. I have two years of college left so I have to finish that first. So, for the next two years I won't get to see him pretty much at all.

my sons GF is  in college also. She is going to transfer to something (anything) up there. She said she will even go to community college. After being apart for these two months...she said shes willing to do anything. This was a lot harder than what she thought it was going to be.

Their young...but i have a feeling they will be together for a while... if not forever.:))

It will all work out the way it is meant to be. Good Luck

well, i am a nursing student so hard for me to transfer since it is so competative to get into the school, plus financially I can't afford to move. I would move in a heartbeat if I could, but it's not possible. plus, who knows how long he will be at this duty station, or if he goes out for a 6month deployment on a ship right away then moving and risking my college career just doesn't make sense. This was also a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I'm in it for the long haul.

Good for you Jamie. Being a nurse is no easy job. Good to hear your in for the long haul.

BTW....Did you watch the video the other day?

yes I watched the video and I love it. I shared it with this military gf group that I am in on facebook and the they loved it too. Thanks for sharing.
Potsie, your son is not that far from me. Maybe an hour away we will have to meet up so that he can have a place close by if he needs the home feeling instead of a navy base.
Kelly My God you are wonderful..!!! Thats really nice of you. I will definitely tell him you said that...:)))

This sucks so bad...i would love for our boys to be 'kicking back' in Ricky Heaven for the past few days...and for the NEXT few days.

BUT NOOOOOO..they have to stay in BC right up to the VERY last day. They wont even get to relax in there at all.

NOTHING has gone their way.....Im starting to lose it...i might take a break from the board for a day.

Im sorry...its not that im not happy for all the recruits who are done,,,its just that im sad for ours.

No calls, no letters, no "photos on FB",...nothing to be happy about like all the other moms.  Bummer.

If you ladies want to get in touch with me...Send me a PM...i will check those:)))

I thought it was going to be easier because we are so close. My nerves are shot!  So hard! I hope my son is real happy, thats all i can say for now! xoxo
hang in there girls this week will be the test of all of our strengths.....
Your not kidding, and my marriage. lol  Driving my husband and kids absolutly crazy. lol    To boot my daughter was sent home from school today. Fever and weak.  Its early enough in the week for her to get better quick.  lol
I got a hold of my SR's family today, they said they had talked to public affairs and somehow found out that their battlestations were last night instead of tonight. Again, i didn't hear this directly but his family heard this. So, if that's the case, keep your phone handy for today cause we might get those phone calls!
