Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

Very nice sunny day here... supposed to be near 60 degrees by the weekend!! yah!

kk I'm sure you had a blast with G! So glad he was home to visit. I miss D :(

Bama... thought Red Cross got him leave???  confused...  

KK...  not sure but acute scoliosis since childhood... now taking its toll... sooo thinking about doing something to give me quality of life...  tired and weary of hurting 24 / 7...  never told yall much about it..  but ... we will see...  so many others in this world hurting more than me... but I think this is my year to TRY to Do something...  keep yall posted....

Grandpa is fading fast--walking between both worlds. J found out he can't come home.....pretty broken up. They did let him call this morning and he got to talk to Grandpa and they were able to say goodbye.....He's really going fast now as that was what he was waiting for.......

HI everyone!!!!!   Back to my daughters house now...  had awesome time with my mamma and then my girl friend of many many years...  still another week here.  Considering having back surgery this year....   getting MRI today and consult Friday... doctors here in Sarasota are the best of the best...   need to get these bad curves straightened so that I can be the new person I need and want to be...  the pain is becoming more acute..  sooooooo  we will see what he tells me Friday...  Ill fly back here for the surgery and recovery if I have it...  

Bama - sooo glad that J will be able to come back..  

KK - ahhhhhh - big boy hugs are the best!!!!  =D

Bman gave me a duplicate of his gold wings with his name and date engraved on the back side for me for Christmas...not sure how he pulled that off...  but he did it!.  sooooooooooooo kewl!

God Bless the Red Cross!!!!  They are bringing J home for Grandpa!!!  They are very close--always have been. And like two peas in a pod. J is his namesake, after all!!  He will only be home for the death/funeral, then back to the Stennis......

Continued:  He is apparently rallying today. We had to come home last night, but I've sent Joe back over to spend today, tonight and tomorrow with his parents. He is going to tell his Dad that we will make sure his Mom is taken care of....wish J could be here....He loves his Grandpa!!!

Had a very blessed Christmas!!!  J called just as I got off work yesterday morning and headed to P'cola to meet up with the rest of the family. Then we all had a wonderful dinner!! Will be the last one we have with Joe's 91 yo WWII POW father. I thought he had left us as he sat in the recliner after eating lunch--and remember I'm a nurse and really know what that looks like. He is apparently
