Div 818 PIR 9/2

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

Hunt for Red October - great movie. Deserved the Oscar wins & multiple nominations. Tom Clancy writes a "heck" (don't want to use that other four letter word around the Navy) of a book. Love Sean Connery & Alec Baldwin. Submarine a little too claustrophobic for me.

CKH- Textbooks.com is the place to buy books or used books! Great prices, free shipping AND they buy back any book they sell you & give at least half your $ back! I know you must have loved that area for college! Soccer is big there & in that town also. Unfortunately for us our son wants to play Rugby in college...UGH the injuries!! We're hoping he changes his mind!

This Florida girl never heard of Monkey Bread. Had to goggle it. YUM!!! kelly59 - No wonder your son is craving it. I'm sitting here drooling! I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones. My son advised that although he'll initially be busy after PIR for 4-5 hours transferring everything over to his pre-diver status, we'll be able to play tourist together until we fly home on Sunday! Hallelujah!

It is so amazing how much you can save. The bookstores gouge you!! Make sure you find out if you can still return them to the bookstore after the semester, generally you can but some schools are picky. Where is he going? He must be getting so excited. I LOVED college, even being 3000 miles away from home, I loved it. I was homesick but my parents would come out every sports season to watch me play so I saw them in the fall for the homecoming soccer game, in the winter for basketball and because my father played lacrosse as well my parents would always come for several lacrosse games. Parents weekend was so fun!! You are going to love seeing him in his element. Wow, I wish I was going back to college!! Enjoy, this is an amazing time!
