FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

CKH- Oh sidewalk chalk art....you are making me reminisce about my younger days kiddo! I am helping my younger son order his books for college...Mom finds the good deals for used books & he saves a bunch of money!

CKH- I can't believe you just said it's a favorite on Christmas morning! I actually bake these & give them out to friends at Christmas time...everyone loves it so much I get requests in October!! Our family has been having Monkey bread for Christmas for 20yrs!!

Hi kelly, it was a great day!! The kids and I played with the hose in the backyard and cleaned the deck from all the sidewalk chalk art. :) It was really fun! How was your day? Monkey bread is a favorite at our house as well. A relative standard especially on Christmas morning. :) So cool that your son wants you to bring some.

Lydia- I am SO impressed that you know what Monkey Bread is!! I have been making that for my boys since they were little & I am so happy to bring it for my son to enjoy.....I may even make 2 to bring!!

kelly59, richesmom, roxanne - Hi yall...if I read the posts correctly - yall will have more than just half a day with your guys... my son said 0200 Friday am?? Well, no matter Ill be there anyway.
kelly - can you believe that this southern girl knows what monkey bread is! hahahah
