Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Div 818 PIR 9/2

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

richsmom- Yeahh is so right! This is such good news that we have more than a couple hours with our Sailor's! My son wants me to bring him my Monkey bread for after PIR! I was so happy that he wanted me to bring him something special! Cool evening here in NH tonight....feels pretty good!

Kelly59, I live across the bay from Patuxent Naval base, never get tired of watching. I too am glad to have time with him, wasn't sure it was going to happen. Be back in a few hours, daughter is helping with VBS tonight and driving wish me luck.

roxanne w dale, Thanks for letting me know, yes my son is going to school there also. We are so happy that we are going to have some time with him before they fly across the country! Where are you watching Navy planes? They are so cool to watch!

Kelly59, He's going to Coronada. Think they are going to same school? Navy planes are practicing over the bay at this minute. Always love to watch, even more so now..
