Div 818 PIR 9/2

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

kk- Knowing that it is Thursday I was certain that there would be a letter in my mail box. Then my mother called and said that she had gotten a letter from our son. So I KNEW there would be one for me. Guess what. No letter for mommy, only grandmom. At first I was a little upset but then told myself he must be very busy and at least we taught him well. He is sharing what little time he has with the important people in his life. Remember they are busy learning, training, ironing, ha ha etc... We are the ones on the computer all day. LOL Cheer up Ladies! We will meet soon.

Andrew'sSupport & kk, I totally understand how you both feel about the girlfriends getting letters before us. I kept telling my husband I thought our son may have written to his friends first & that bothered me too. I am thankful he does not have a girlfriend at this time...lots of girls that are good friends tho. We have had that talk with our younger son who is leaving for college next month...his girlfriend is a year behind him & we agree that he is young & should enjoy & have fun without any ties at this point.

I'm not sure but I think I accidentally deleted my last post. I got a letter from Ben today and I guess he got shin splints and they gave him 3 options: 1) go to medical and get his program dropped, 2) go to medical and get "ASMOED" which I guess means set back, or 3) get a couple of days bedrest which will not be enough time to heal. What does ASMOED mean? What would happen? I'm guessing he probably took the couple days bedrest (knowing Ben) because it was on Sunday and it would have been enough time for him to call us if he was getting discharged. I'm worried! Any words of wisdom on the subject?

kk-Don't get discouraged. I have not talked to my son's X-girlfriend (now just friends) because I don't want to know if she has gotten more letters than me. I would be very jealous. Not knowing is easier for me. She is only a X because we sat him down and told him that he was young and when you leave home you should be free and to have some fun. I am sure his girlfriend didn't understand this.

richsmom, oh yeah...love those potato chips! We have woods in the back of our house & I'm constantly hearing "big crunching noises" coming out of those woods! It really freaks me out when I'm in the pool by myself, I usually run in the house! lol I know when it's a moose because I hear their hoofs & tree bark ripping! Oh boy the country life....& I was such a city girl 25yrs ago!

Good morning Kelly, I did get one letter last week. I'm pretty sure it arrived on a Tuesday. They're like potato chips though. It only makes you want more.
BTW I really enjoyed the bear story. I can relate.
