Information

Div 818 PIR 9/2

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

CKH - being a mom is different than the wife and mother of his child... Of course you are double overwhelmed! But in reading your posts, I feel confident that your man is one of the top div guys..... Im sure he is confident that you know that and that you know that he is okay. Prb he is more worried about you and the baby girl. Hang in there cause you know he is doing this not for him but for yall and God and His country! I was so down yesterday knowing that some 818 moms had gotten letters but not me - but then they posted some of the guys comments and it made me feel so great! Its coming - I promise - and I know he will love you daughters art work. hahah

Thanks Lydia, it's really hard. I am so greatful to you for posting the letter. I can now ask my husband questions. I just dont understand what is taking so long. It is our daughters 4th birthday tomorrow and it's getting harder to come up with reasons why the letters haven't got here here yet. I guess I am just being a baby and feeling emotional because this is the first birthday he will miss. Sorry, dont mean to bring everyone down. I am so happy to be able to get an idea of what he is doing. If you don't mind please keep posting.

richsmom - and hi everyone else too -- I saw your post about those that pull the guys down - as you see from Ben he basically said the same thing But as Jessica or someone said that is why they pair these guys up - they know who has priorties, energy, smarts and they have to throw in some others so that they can all wind up helping one another. If I know Ben - being a rescue swimmer - he will pull them up and try to save them / the team - yours guys too! They will pull for the other guys and gals and help them - not only to survive themselves but to see those less able survive! Right!

Okay moms - I promised my first letter so here you go - now it is long but Im going to quote it word for word because I know how I have craved hearing your boys/hubby letters... bear with me - what a GREAT son I have. Did not think I could be more proud but I am.... I wont put all his other letters on here other than to tell you the jist of them but this being the first I though yall would want to here it........ Greetings from bootcamp - woow where to start -how about the beginning. The first 36 hours were prob the worst of my life. When we got on the bus from the airport the intensity heightened alot. We had a 45 min ride to the base. We got off and ran inside and got in line and got yelled at - then we went through 36 hours of processing with no sleep. I now know what exhaustion feels like. I hallucinated and everything. I think in all I was up for 40 hours. I was sitting too, so we werent active which made it alot harder. We did not eat for 16 hour so that hurt. Finally we got a compartment and got sleep til 4 then more processing. P-Days were the worst - Id by lying if I said that I did not want to quite at that point. But now it is looking up. We have the 3 hardest and meanest RDC - BUT they are the best! Someone talked in the passage way and we all had to do IT (intensive train) for over an hour with no breaks. I was drenched and tired. I take back what I said that boot camp is a joke - haha (ladies my son is very cockie - he figured that since he has been training for over a year plus that it would be a walk in the park) on..... I JUST GOT BACK FROM CHURCH which was pretty good. (Ben is a believer) The food is awesome and as we are always PT'ing, my appetitie is big and Im gaining weight although I have not lost my 6 pack. Mom, make sure my buddies on Face Book have my address I want letters and Hosanna too (his sister) My fav thing is shinning my boots. I dont know why but it is relaxing. My job is Ship Staff - 8 of us from different divisions clean the ship - by far my fav 2 hours of the day because I get to get away from the compartment and all the stress. We got our NWV (navy working uniform) fatigues. Although getting beatdown in them sucks because there thick. My main RDC (chief) is funny as heck (okay that is not exactly what he said) when he is in a good mood and we are all good. Theres alot of good guys in my div but there are alot of ppl with mixed up priorities and need to get their act straight - but we are slowly coming together.... My new definition of sleeping in is 6 am. no more time Love you Ben - soo moms! Im a happy mom today! hope this encourages those who like me have waiting for sooo long to get that first letter.
