Information

Div 818 PIR 9/2

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

Hi ladies, I just posted this on our other site but i wanted to let you know what i heard when i called. Thanks so much for the heads up lydia!!!!! She said to me that the only person who could give us the specifics was our recruits. All I did was give her the division number and she was able to tell me that the division (818) was Grad and Go, and that they were scheduled to leave Saturday. At least now we know how long to stay. I did find out that if your recruit is staying in Great lakes, they are able to check into that base after graduation, (it can take up to 5 hours) and they will know their orders and will have their schedule. They may have the holiday off but would not know until they check in. Hope this helps.

Received a letter to day/night...my mail comes very late in the day. Div. 818 has about 90 guys in it and a few have dropped. Processing week was very rough, long and they are glad it is over. the three RDC's hold this group to a much higher standard!! Barely has time to write on Sunday mornings only..had to study, iron, straighten out rack. Food is very good. Works every other day and night as a "Watch" 2 hours at night, 4 hours during the day. Only receive mail once a week! Maybe a phone call in a couple weeks. "Thanks for all the letters, don't worry about me I am doing fine" also says Boot Camp is tough!

Hey Kelly, OMG I just hung up the phone from Rich. He was allowed to call because he had a problem with his routing number for his payroll. He sounded less than thrilled but said that it is much better now than when he wrote the first form letter. The food is not too bad. He was speaking quietly I could barely hear him and he didn't have much time.

He got my first letter already and sent one to me that I haven't gotten yet. One day they had about 5 hours of free time to write but he had paperwork to do. They made him a yoaman (I don't know how to spell it). I think he's less than thrilled with that. He's not a real paperwork kind of guy. That's why he joined special ops. Oh well. They'll teach him alot. Anyway from what I get from him all Div 818 moms should be getting a real letter shortly.

I mentioned that I've been talking to all of you wonderful moms and mentioned Kevin is from New Hampshire and Andrew from Washington. He was surprised that I'm talking to mom's of kids in his same division. Of course they don't know first names so as we learn more of what they are doing maybe they can figure each other out. That is if they don't have anything better to do. Ha Ha I hope you don't mind that I'm going to post this on the PIR9/2 and bootcamp sites so that other moms from can know that a letter may be coming shortly.

Talk to you soon and look for that letter.
