Can anyone tell me the exact street address to this division? My daughter told us on Sunday that her address was 7101 Illinois St, but her letter received yesterday said 3510 Illinois St. Please help!

Hi all,

We received the first call from our daughter yesterday -she had an hour to talk! It was soooo good to hear her voice! Her PIR was supposed to be 4/30/10, but was dealing with shin splints until her 2nd PT test, in which she pushed herself to make the run and came in almost 1 minute under time. Then the pain escalated to her hip - now she has a stress fracture in her hip. They have her scheduled for a bone scan on the 20th. I guess we will know more then. She said there are about 80 recruits in RCU and some are there because they cannot pass the PT. She also said something about not being able to use any equipment or take tests while in RCU - only physical therapy and yoga and cleaning in the morning. She sounds pretty good realizing that there is nothing she can do about her situation. She gets to call home on Sundays (1 hr every other wk and 10 minutes on the opposite Sunday) - way cool! I was told they can write most days and we got a letter today from her. In her old division (which is not doing so well), she was only allowed to write letters on Sunday's. I hope she heals quickly and gets back into a better, more organized division. How are your kids doing?

muttjeff2 - I talked with my daughter about Sarah, but was again told that she only knows last names. Can you email me the last name - is she still in RCU? I know you thought she was leaving soon.

My son is still only writing on Sunday--1 letter a week is lousy, but today I got my weekly letter! He says they still have jobs, stand watch etc, so are busy. I sent some suduko puzzles in a card (only 4) & he said that was ok-sounds like he gets daily mail. My letters are not long--the curse of a male child. My son says there are no visitors allowed, especially not on the original PIR date. I have become attached to my phone as I can't stand the thought of missing a call.

Thanks Lou - I've been searching for uplifting poems and quotes to add to my letters and have found a few. Do you know how many recruits are in RCU at the moment? I'm hoping that my daughter realizes that this will pass and once she is healed that she will be the best physical shape of her life and she will be able to pass PT with flying colors once they move her back into a new division. Do they still get letters on a daily basis and are they allowed to write letters more in RCU? I've also heard of parents visiting on their original PIR date and were able to see their kids that have been placed in RCU - do you know anything about that?

Valerie, my son has been in RCU for 3wk, also with a stress fracture. He sounded ok last week, but calls are few. He is on a 3 stage set of physical therapy with pool time, weights & walking laps. They have no classes, no tv, phone, etc. He is working in the laundry, & says he is busy with that and therapy. Yes, there is depression, he saw his division marching in dress blues with all their flags which totally upset him & his PIR date of 4/16 will be tough. We write every day, I have a lot of friends writing too. I am a nurse, so on the good side, a fracture will heal, but the slowness of it is terribly frustrating. Also, having no info is tough on us moms. Hang in there & keep writing.

Hi, I am so upset, my daughter just called and said she now has a stress fracture in her hip, along with stress fractures in her shins. They are holding her back and she is moving to Ship 6, I think. They told her that it could take 4-6 weeks for healing and then she would be placed with a new division and would start with week 4-3. She was so upset, it was so hard for me not to let her hear my flood of tears rolling down my face. I could use some hugs about now. Any information would be so helpful.

My son was sent to this division due to a stress fracture-lots of knee pain. Any info is appreciated! His PIR date had been April 16th. Who knows now?

Hello Everyone:
Hope everyone is doing well. I am really missing Amy today! It's her 21st birthday. We have always had a family day on birthdays so it hard not having her here with us. We did each (hubby, brother and I )send her a card, hoping she would have a better day by getting alot of mail. I also sent her a small package with colored writing paper and pens that she asked for, so I hope she doesn't get in trouble by me sending it.

Thanks
Sharon

Good morning! We should get calls today ladies! Can't wait. Hope everyone is healing nicely. I know Amy is ready to continue with her training. She just has her PFA and battle stations left.

Kimi-I'll ask Amy if she knows her.

Have a good Sunday!
