Hello everyone. I haven't been on this website since my son graduated back in June. He is on squadron VFA 11 in Oceana, VA. Actually heading out tomorrow from NC to pick him up for Thanksgiving and heading to Jersey. He is AM and will be deployed mid January. He hates when I go on this website, says they watch what we post so I haven't been on in a while. I think he's exaggerating so here I am. Nice to meet you all. My son is in the barracks, he's 19. :)

Lala, my daughter just received her orders today and she ended up with Oceana! She thinks she will be leaving on Friday, 10/29. At this point she thinks she will go straight to VA and not take any leave until after she gets settled. She is assigned to shore duty and is very disappointed. I am hoping she ends up liking Oceana. Where is your daughter living? I am new to this and worried! Do they provide housing or will she have to find her own? I will definitely tell her she needs to look your daughter up once she gets there since they are both from NC and have at least that in common!!

Gmanswife, do you remember the ribbons I made for our PIR group to wear to PIR?. Ihad a Navy wife ask me to design a ribbon for her to wear when the ship comes back. You should check it out. I posted a pic on the Truman page.
