Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I am new to the site. I am the mother of a new navy recruit. My son leaves for bootcamp in Dec. This will leave us without any children at home. I am excited and bummed out at the same time. I know this will get easier as time goes on. Right now I am dealing with it one day at a time and enjoying each day I still have my son at home. I am looking forward to watching his graduation from bootcamp.

Irene, congratulations! You are in for a wild ride, filled with so many emotions, pride, scared, lonely, adjusting to your last one leaving home (me too). Research everything you can, it helps, ask lots of questions on DEP Moms and join Bootcamp Moms even if you don't want to post you will get lots of information and know that we all feel what you feel now and are going to feel when he deploys to bootcamp. No question on here is stupid and someone always has an answer or how to find out the answer. Enjoy your time while he is still at home and stay strong. I'm going to send you a friend request, please contact me any time except for Nov 8 thru 11 I will be at my SR's PIR YEAH!!!!!!!!

Hi Irene - I see by your post that your son has left for boot camp now. Mine had PIR on 12/21/12 so things are still pretty fresh for us! Hopefully you are hanging in there - it will get easier. And hopefully like Karen said you did lots of research but still feel free to ask questions! Our goal here is to help each other out :)

Hi Karen andN'snukemom. I am doing good I feel like. Some days are definately better than others. This week knowing he is going to do his time in the gas chamber kind of has me panicking. But I know he will make it through it. I still worry about him though. I guess that never goes away. I am really looking forward to jan 25 to see him again. Thank you both for checking on me
