Diva1 - glad to hear that things are improving!  And how exciting that you will have your son, his wife and the new one on the way back so close to you!  I'll bet you can't wait for that grandbaby to arrive!  Congrats!

The first few weeks my recruit left weren't so easy but it is getting better.  My oldest son and his wife are moving back closer to us now that they have a little one on the way.  Their house was only on the market for 4 days lol.  This process is moving fast and I am thrilled.  The new house will be maybe 10 minutes away,  Looking forwarded to being close to our 1st grand.

Diva1- I feel you. We also had 5 kids and my sailor is our last. He’s been in 6 yrs. and just re-enlisted for 3 more.  Our empty nest was too much for us. Ours was always to go to house for all the friends.  So we became foster parents! We had previously fostered a nephew for a year and our licensing was still good, just needed updated. In the last 6 years we have fostered about 80 children. I love it! Yes, you get attached, and it hurts when they go. But there are so many kids these days, at least in our area that need a safe and stable home that it doesn’t take long for the next ones to arrive.  You will find what you need to fill the void. It just takes some time.

Diva1 it's different but I'm amazed how comfortable I am now. My daughter has been in over 4 years now.  She was my last at home and my husband travels 90% of the year.

I have been an empty nester for an entire 5 days.  My youngster is in BC now.  The house seems so empty and I didn't know all the emotions I would go through when he left.  I am a mother of 5 so my house was always full of kids.  I guess I should learn to enjoy this quiet phase before the grandkids come and its coming soon :-) 1st one due in the spring from my oldest.

Oh no Daysleeper!  That sucks.  Thank goodness your neighbor let you use her washer....hopefully you can get a new one soon!
