Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web. Don’t forget to click the “Save” button at the bottom.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your Sailor.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted." You can make that change on the same page when you change the ZIP Code.

Where is your Sailor stationed (what vessel, if one)? There may be groups I can direct you to.

Wait until he asks for them. You may be able to give them to him when he is home on leave after "A" School, but if he needs them before then, he will ask for them and you can send them then.

You'll want to watch the livestream at http://www.livestream.com/usnavyrtc beginning at 8:45 am CST on the day of PIR.

We have seen 1 pair and a small amount of solution (the sample bottle from the optician is good). As far as his ID and SS card, bring them to him at PIR, he will need them.  Some have needed them prior to PIR and if he does, he will let you know to mail them, but most don't need them until after PIR. Your SR must have the 2 forms of ID in order to get his military ID--every Sailor must have the military ID prior to being able to start "A" School or training, so get the copies to him ASAP. I always thought that originals were needed, but if he said copies will work then send those. There have been Sailors who were held in the THU following PIR until appropriate ID was received. You can send the stamps and bandaids back in your next letter.

There are always a number in each division who are unable to attend for one rason or another. Check Saving Money PIR Weekend and see if there are any ways you had not thought of that would allow at least one person to attend. If not, perhaps you will be able to connect with a loved one of one of his shipmates and maybe he can be adopted. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend. I hope that something works out.
