B'sNukeMom, thanks! BTW it took over 20 takes to get the profile shot for my FB page. Some of the rejects are hilarious. We're all sitting on the spiral stairway that went to the loft. This was after moonshine tasting, thank goodness nobody got hurt.
Oleander - that picture just makes me smile and feel so happy too!! He is adorable!!
Oleander, what a cutie your grandson is. Maybe one day, I’ll have a picture to post also. One can only dream!
Oleander - that's awesome that your Sailor got to choose a location near her sister! I don't blame her for wanting to be near her adorable nephew - like JayDee said, that picture makes me smile ;-D
(And Oleander and I have been lucky enough to meet in person too - same time I was meeting up with JayDee!)
Love getting to meet new Navy moms!
Oleander, that picture makes me smile! What a blessing!
mariecb - our youngest that is coaching in NE also got a part time job at a running store in Lincoln!
Isn't the GI Bill wonderful?!? So glad it's available to our military members.
Jack's Momma - good luck to your oldest in his job search! Do you think you'll be able to visit your sailor overseas? And congrats on another grandson! (Lucky you!)
JayDee - I know you had a fantastic time visiting both your girls and their SO's! I enjoyed seeing your pictures on FB. (JayDee and I are friends on FB and have been lucky enough to meet up in person!) What a wonderful birthday celebration for all of you...
It's great to hear how your children are doing. Cole (28 years) has been out of the navy for over 2 years and is pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree with his GI Bill at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks (my hometown) but 5 hours away from us now. Ivie (non-military) (25 years) graduated with a Communications Degree and Sports Management minor about 3 years ago. She is currently teaching ballroom dance and training for competition and also works at a running store here in Duluth, MN where we live. She has a boyfriend she lives with in town so we are empty nested. Hoping for marriages and grandchildren soon!! Our Bailey (maltipoo) is almost 15 years old!
Checking in. Sailor has now been in for 4 years (where does time go) and has re-upped although her sailor husband has not. They are stationed in Norfolk, shes on a carrier, he's on a sub.
My oldest daughter earned her PhD in Chemistry from Virginia Tech in May and is currently employed by the university while her boyfriend finishes his PhD.
Both my girls are in Virginia - just opposite ends!
We just had a family vacation last week and it was great to spend time with all the kids. Today just happens to be my sailors birthday!
