Tee-1sailor's mom: I have to share my LO to that the extent that I hardly ever get to see him. He is married and so when he "comes home" it's not to my home anymore. He hasn't been home (my house) since entering the Navy a year and a half ago. His room is still "his" room as he has never been able to come back and pack things up. We had to mail things he needed and everything else is still there just like it was when he left. In some ways that's comforting but in some ways it makes me sad knowing that he'll never occupy the room again in the same way. Change is hard but as Navy moms we have to accept it and move on in new ways with our LO's.
Just getting ready to run to the post office. Molly's Adopt a Sailor group here adopted Marines and Army this month. Sending out one box with 10 pillowcases and personal hygiene to be shared within the group, and one individual box jammed full of nuts, protein bars, single drink mixes and etc for another Marine. Sometimes we are lucky and get a note back, most times we know we are making a difference in someone's life for just a moment of love from home.
Everyone have a good weekend. We are going to a murder mystery potluck to raise funds for "No More Malaria" project. I'm a disenchanted former elephant handler made to move to the snake house, and my hubby is a lion handler who wants to open his own circus. Off to fix a hot veggie dish and a dessert.

Welcome indymom, I haven't been a member of the group for long but these ladies are very supportive from what I've experienced so far. I hear you about the depression. I just started on meds to try to get out of it, I hope it helps. My son has been in for 3 years. I miss him so much, but you get used to making what you have at home be enough. Sometimes it works, sometimes....not so much.
hello Ladies,Thought i would joing the group as well after ive been really depressed lately ,,my son is in Gm school at GL,and even tho he texts me often to say hi,,im having a hard time dealing with him not being home, i really feel like im not a part of his life anymore and its making this depression worse
Mary, Sorry to hear your cub is sick. I'll keep him in my prayers. :-)
