My son left a week ago today after being home for almost a month.  I am not sure which hurt more, boot camp two years ago or this....He is in pearl harbor now.  Its in the middle of the freaking pacific ocean!!!! I can;t drive there.  He is a nuke and has been in school for the last two years on the east coast, where he lived off base with my mother, his grandmother.  This is hard!!!!

Today is a really bad one.  I am so down and missing my son so much, does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this better?

Hello from sunny California.  I'm a single emptynester with a deployed sailor (son) and a daughter who just got back from her honeymoon.  She does have 2 children (I'm a grandma too) and neither of of my "kids" have lived with me for years but the being single again part has me pretty lonely.  I sped a lot of time on Navy for Moms.

Good Morning all,  Well I thought i would join the group.  My son Graduated 04-06-12.  He is now in MM school in Great Lakes,  I have my good days and my bad.  After my sons PIR, my then 18 now 19 year has decided she wants to join!!  I am thrilled that she is showing excitement about joining.  but then there is a part of me thinking there goes my babies!!  Both are leaving me.

Jackied I have a son in Pensacola also. I also have a son in BC. I had a hard time when my youngest left. Don't get me wrong I love both my boys, my oldest was in collage and then entered the Navy so he already was gone 2 years. My youngest lived with me up until he went to BC.
