My quilted Blue Star in honor of my deployed Sailor.  This weekend project is done and only 1 day total.  Will be hanging this on the front door until his safe return home.

I'm going crazy! I can't wait to see my baby. Not long now...Thanks ebigirl and everyone with input on all the goes with graduation!

carols kitchen - Thank you.  My son, 18 y/o, graduated boot camp on March 30th and is now in Pensacola, FL.  He's my baby and it's hard him being so far away now.  I have a 20 y/o daughter who's away in her 3rd year of college.

ebigirl - I agree friends/family members who don't have a child in the military truly don't understand our feelings.

My daughter is away at college and it's a totally different feeling/experience from my son being away in the Navy.  Boot camp was the hardest part.  Even though now we communicate all the time, I still worry about him.

It'll be nice having a place to share these feelings with others who have been there and/or are going through the same.

Your welcome. At least your through the hardest part...bootcamp. At least that was the hardest part for me so far. The NO communication just did me in! As a mom who knew where my kid was and what he was doing 24/7, it was like pulling the rug out from underneath me.

seabreeze-family members who don't have a child in the Military have a hard time understanding where we are coming from. That's part of the reason I am so thankful for NavyforMoms.

I agree I needed to let go, and I did, but as a mom I will always worry. My son is my one and only also! Hang in there and take care!

Shermb, I saw the Blue Star Banner on google but didn't like the way the star was- So I'm just winging it and so far haven't needed to rip anything out yet :)  which is a good thing. I am having troublng getting the star the way I want.  But if it works well, I just may be taking orders.....although I have several friends that I'd love to make them with their sons being deployed.  It'll be hard putting a price on a future heirloom. Can't wait to get it finished and hang on my door :)

will post completed pics.
