Timsmom. In the last year we have seen our son about every six months. He had to have foot surgery so it will be about 4.5 months before he finishes FT training ten will get his duty station so.... When we see him basically I am the chief maid and bottle washer for all his friends so... Glad to see him come glad to see him go. He is the baby and is spoiled rotten

Ahh, one who is "rotten Groton."  That was the only school location my kid says he didn't like, yet it was winter and he got to go snowboarding a couple of times, so it couldn't have been too bad.

Tims Mom, we are lucky to be on a school schedule and I have a hubby who could have been a tour guide who finds the best deals to get to our sailor's bases.  So, we haven't been as removed as 99% have been.  It's been over 3 years now, and we've seen him twice a year one way or another.  Must say King's Bay, GA is his home base and one of our favorites.  Right now he's in dry-dock in VA, which is a Southwest airlines route and we've snagged some good ticket prices.

Keep with us and we'll be there for you.   Carol

I think I need to join this group!  My son's PIR was 10/15/10.  It has been one year that my son has been gone and the last time I saw him was in October at Bootcamp graduation.  He is now in CT at Submarine school and will be moving to his duty station soon.  How are you all coping?

Yeah, we're packing up the van for a quick visit to see our sailor.  He has next weekend off! He's got three prints entered in an art show.

Truthfully I was surprised by that but he Id amazingly built and raised in the country and can shoot anything. Just one thing they a re checking out one of his shoulders like everything then he gets in for sure. They are working on that shoulder issue like an x-Ray machine. Please pray thathis shoulder passes cause that's what he wants to do and if he stays home any longer my sister may kill him:)
