And, remember, your Future Sailor's letters are about a week behind how they are doing at the present.  Lots of Moms have worried because their recruit sounded down in the dumps, but was ok by the time the letter reaches your house.

Mostele....Congrats on your sailor.

As to the comminciations, please contact his recruiter, they can help you get his address.  Then once you do get his address run off some mailing labels and send them in a letter to you son..That way he will have your address.

Hi Emptynesters - I'm a single mom, who's youngest is in BC right now. His division is 244, Ship 11. I'm anxious to see what the future brings for my SR.  It's very hard because I did not get the box or the form letter, my sister did, as my son was staying with her for several months, dogsitting for her while she was traveling. All his stuff is there. My sister has been less than communicative with me in regard to details and I moved to a new city, not where my son grew up. My son always forgets my new address, so I understand why my sister got these things. I feel with this website I have found fellowship and home for the time being! Right now, I am just waiting for a letter or phone call from my SR.Any advice on how to get through would be appreciated!

Full house again for the weekend.  Our youth church group called us while we were in Virginia, and could we put up 2 college gals?  Then, the day they were to come, was there any way we could also put up to college guys?  This morning it stormed like heck, so we even got to cook them up a really good breakfast, too, and sit and talk more.  Sunday we take them back to church so they can leave for their next week's youth gathering around the 4 state area.

We are going to Great Lakes next Thursday, my son will be graduating from his A school for Gunners Mate.  He is a grad and go and will be flying out to Va on that Friday or Saturday.  We will be saying good by to him and I know it is going to be so hard for me, we have a special bond him and I.  But, at the same time I am so very proud of him.  I now know what my Mom felt when I left for the Army.
