It is too quiet in this house. I am watching Bourne Identify and thinking of seeing it years ago with my sons as a family. Now it's me and the dog watching it, it's still a good movie, but not quite the same!

@Blanche I remember when my daughter was born 32 years ago at birth it was finally right I was a mom college and every thing else was like good but not into my soul. I needed to be needed. When my son left I have an empty spot not in my soul but.... We need to be needed then we somehow have to learn to let them go so they csn be fulfilled and needed-- I guess there in lies the circle of life

@salsbor. My son was told in bc that he was going to be put back 2 weeks for graduation. This is how he tells the story-- I was waiting for a dental a ppt and was told to wait in my room. The next thing I know I woke up with the master Sargent leaning over me -- he said his next thought was oh sh-t. He said the master Sargent yelled and yelled at him then told him he was not going to grsduate until 2 weeks later if at all. Well we had bought our plane tickets and our sailor knew this. He said is there any other way because my parents will kill me (we had spent a good deal of money). Master sergeant said 2hours of intensive training . My sailor said strange thing I don't even want a nap anymore. Lol

I finally got a video postcard from my sailor.  She's doing well I think but it almost looked like she was on the verge. of tears.  I got a phone call that lasted only about 2 minutes but it was so good to hear her voice.  She's out of communication while on deployment for extended periods of time.  I've been trying to stay busy by remodeling the house and we foster for lab rescue.  My most recent puppy just got adopted and I had to sit and have a good cry.  I think part of it is that as she's growing up, she doesn't need me as much.  I'm a mom.  I need someone to need me.  Fostering helps.  Maybe  others out there like me should consider their options in their community.  I also help older neighbors.  Even with all this activity and having our own business, I'm still having trouble sleeping.  I sometimes wake up with an anxious feeling and my first thought is Is she Ok?  Does time help this?

salosbor, how long has your son been at bootcamp?  It is very typical that the first few weeks, the divisions have trouble working together and wouldn't be surprised that they are all threatened with you might not graduate on time if you don't shape up. 

I will pray for your son and his division along with the family that lost their son and the sailors that were with him - what a terrible accident.

I am really missing my son!  Got a letter on Wednesday - its rough right now - his division is not being a team, in fact they have been threatened that they will not graduate on 3/4.  I could tell by the letter that my son was stressed out!  I know this is part of the breaking down and that the Navy will build them back up. . . As a mom it's hard to let go of that "little boy" and realize he is a man and can certainly take care of himself!

Prayers for my son and his division.  Prayers to the family that lost their son in a tragic accident.

Good Morning,

I have just joined this site after being told about it. My youngest decided to join the navy after 3 years of Nursing School. She left 2 weeks ago for bc and I am very lost without her. It has gotten very quiet in our house (Just me and the Cat). I think the cat misses my daughter as well she sits outside my daughters room and meows walks around the house looking for her as well.

As I read other post it makes me feel better that I'm not alone in missing my recruit

Hi, I'm new to this group.  we have 3 sons and our youngest decided to join the Navy after 1.5 years of college where he didn't do very well.  He graduated boot camp in July 2010 and passed A school for nuke MM in October 2010.  He is now in Power School in Goose Creek.

I think the final PFA is during week 6 of boot camp.
