Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Comment by navymom9875 on January 18, 2011 at 10:52am: Paymaster - here's another idea: I still make soup or chili in the crockpot in full quantities (it makes the house smell so good on a winter day!) then freeze individual portions. That way hubby and I can take a serving or two from the freezer and have a tasty bowl of homemade soup any time we want.

I finally managed to make a pot of chili for just the two of us without having enough leftovers for the whole neighborhood! I had just enought for lunch for myself today. I am so proud of myself.

Kimberly--our son did not have enough time to get tired of subs. His is now in drydock, so they only had tranining exercises. Not sure yet if he had time to earn his dolphins. Just saw on facebook that he is in the air on his way to former base, and will then drive his vehicle up to his new place in Norfolk. At least they are flying him--originally he thought they would bus all the guys down to get their cars and last of their belongings. He will be in Norfolk for 2 years. Can you hear me shouting "yeah" from there?
