Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

RED CROSS CONTACT INFO:

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Then he would go to his dad it became a bounding issue with them against me. In high school I was always the one he came to. I usually call him twice a week only for a few minutes. We play words with friends. I really think it is an independence thing

Hopefully things will change soon . Miranda is so new in the navy that I haven't experienced that yet. I'm sure you, re not alone.

Comment by Renick ET on January 26, 2011 at 1:44pm: Grandson... I wish. I would love to hear from my son, three more weeks of boot, ugh. I think after boot camp things will slow down considerably for him. So, I feel that rather than ask him about what will happen next in his career, I will just ask him what he did today. Whether it be, scrubbed the lightbulb to learned circuitry, I think the trick will be to not ask about A School, C school, fleet, etc. He's got a long 6 year road ahead of him and I want to make sure he takes me along for ride, virtually speaking!

Comment by Blanche on January 25, 2011 at 10:39pm: I've been checking my emails constantly. I keep hoping for a phone call but no luck. I've been trying to stay busy around the house too. First scraped the popcorn texture off the ceilings, retextured those. Now I've removed the baseboards, washed the walls and retextured those too. I'm starting to paint tomorrow. Then what? I guess I;ll just keep redoing things but that will only last so long, and she hasn't even been gone that long. Not sure how I'm going to handle this long deployment.
